Games in the Gardens - NOLA
Quincy Crawford
Tangent West was thrilled to be sponsor of Games in the Gardens co-chaired by our own Executive Recruiter
Quincy Crawford. Games in the Gardens is inspired by the Racquet and Julep Club, which was started by house and garden owners Edith and Edgar Stern during WWII. They would encourage friends and neighbors to come to Longue Vue for tennis games and social evenings as a diversion from the stresses of war. Today, athletics are still important socially, as well as physically, and sports still have the power to bring communities together. At this fun, casual event, attendees peruse the grounds, playing lawn games and celebrating a “Changemaker in Sports.” This year’s Changemaker is basketball legend Swin Cash. Swin is a four-time WNBA All-Star, three-time WNBA champion, and two-time Olympic gold medalist, and is now breaking barriers as SVP of Basketball Operations/Team Development with the New Orleans Pelicans. She’s also an inspiration off the court, where she’s committed to providing essential tools for kids to “get into the game” through her foundation Cash For Kids. The proceeds from Games in the Gardens goes to fund Longue Vue’s incredible children’s education programming.
